About The Position

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) I supports patient care by ensuring comfort and safety, following the model of care at TCH, which emphasizes collaboration between patients, families, and healthcare teams. Care is culturally sensitive and age-appropriate, and all duties are delegated by a Registered Nurse according to Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• 0 - 1 Years of Experience Required.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Required.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical tasks assigned by the RN, adhering to Ohio Board of Nursing delegation guidelines.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Ensure patient and unit safety.
• Provide patient comfort and hygiene, documenting according to policy.
• Orient patients and families to the hospital environment and facilitate communication throughout the hospitalization process.
