About The Position

As a Patient Care Assistant in the Acute Surgical Unit, you'll be responsible for assisting in the total nursing care for all patients utilizing standards of care. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment and requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent or be enrolled in a health assistant program at a vocational school
  • Must have patient care experience or completion of one semester in a healthcare related field
  • Must have current CPR certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Must have Comprehensive Crisis Management certification or be obtained within 12 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Assist in total nursing care for all patients
  • Utilize standards of care in patient interactions
  • Support nursing staff in daily operations
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes
  • Assist with patient mobility and personal care tasks
