The University of Miami is seeking a dedicated individual to join the UHealth Tower team. This position involves greeting individuals both on the phone and in person with a warm and professional demeanor. The successful candidate will coordinate with the appropriate scheduling department to schedule patient appointments, particularly when prior authorizations have not been obtained or have been denied. Additionally, the role includes assisting departments with inquiries related to account status, pre-certification, eligibility, financial estimates, and departmental policies and procedures. Ensuring the security of patient information and proper disposal of paperwork to maintain confidentiality is crucial. The candidate will also be responsible for obtaining and documenting prior authorizations before services are rendered, contacting physician offices for missing patient information, and utilizing patient estimate tools to provide accurate out-of-pocket estimates. Updating patient accounts with correct insurance information and submitting insurance referral documentation in a timely manner are also key responsibilities. Adherence to University and unit-level policies and procedures is expected, along with safeguarding University assets.
