About The Position

The position coordinates patient access to care by performing a variety of appointment scheduling tasks. This includes answering phones, patient registration, scheduling office visits, scheduling surgeries, and maintaining the physician(s) schedule.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a health care facility, including scheduling appointments/surgeries and/or coordinating access to care.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Outlook.
  • Accurate data entry.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete time-sensitive duties daily.
  • Dependability and excellent attendance are required.

Responsibilities

  • Answer busy phones and assist patients by providing general information and scheduling office visits and surgeries, maintaining physician(s) schedule.
  • Perform patient registration tasks, including entering patient demographic and insurance information into practice management system(s).
  • Document urgent patient phone messages for physician(s), seeking resolution from physician and following up with resolution in a timely manner.
  • Provide administrative support to physician(s).
