About The Position

Transportation of patients via escort, wheelchair, stretcher, or bed. Conducts equipment rounding, cleaning and distribution as requested. Reports to the Manager of Patient Support Services.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED
• BCLS certification within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Transports patients and equipment to and from hospital departments within the hospital (only) as requested/assigned.
• Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, chairs, wheelchairs, and stretchers.
• Picks up and delivers supplies and requisitions as requested.
• Performs associated transport equipment rounding, including cleaning, disinfection, and relocation of equipment to appropriate storage areas, based on established par levels, and in ready condition for patient use.
• Transports broken and tagged equipment to appropriate location for repair, and/or for notification to equipment vendor, assuring appropriate repair action is taken.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
