About the position

The Patient Advocate plays a crucial role in ensuring patients receive high-quality care by managing appointment scheduling and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers. This position is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency of the clinic and supporting the overall mission of Jordan Valley Community Health Center to improve community health through accessible medical services.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments based on patient needs and scheduling policies.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance in all patient interactions.
• Answer telephone calls, provide information to callers, and route calls to appropriate personnel.
• Work closely with providers and staff to address patient needs while adhering to scheduling protocols.
• Promote effective working relations and collaborate with team members to meet clinic goals.
• Maintain daily cash balancing and reporting.
• Obtain medical information from patients and enter it into electronic records.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain payor source information.
• Conduct patient follow-up calls to address barriers to care and answer questions.
• Assist patients with completing paperwork and understanding information.

Requirements

• 1 year of progressive work experience in a medical setting (preferred).
• Proficient in Windows-based computer programs (required).
• Covid Vaccine required for all employees.
