About The Position

The Patient Advocate delivers exceptional customer service in our Platinum program which provides preventive, primary and acute care to members. The Platinum team is available 24/7 for medical assistance. Duties include but are not limited to scheduling appointments for internal and external services, documenting in the EMR, assisting physicians with medical services as directed, and assisting the program with administrative duties as assigned by the Executive Director of the program. The position requires the employee to be available, after hours and on weekends, to assist our members. Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management and attention to detail skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to work in group setting as well as work independently.
  • Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred.
  • MA certification required or must be obtained within twelve months of hire.
  • Medical office or physician practice experience required
  • Previous in-person customer service experience required
  • Ability to work 24/7 on call required

Responsibilities

  • Patient scheduling, documentation, billing, and referrals.
  • Consistently provides superior internal and external customer service.
  • Organizes and maintains patient communication.
  • Collects patient history, vital signs and documents patient data into the EHR.
  • Assists with prescription requests and refills
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all services that are offered within the clinic as well as other services around campus.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all clientele.
  • Completes duties on site with consistent, regular, and reliable attendance.
  • Accomplishes other duties as assigned.
