About The Position

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Unit Manager, the Patient Administrative Associate performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team by providing administrative support and communicating with members of the health care team, patients and families. This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures. Hartford Hospital is a level-one trauma center and academic medical center, with substantial opportunities for professional experience and exposure. B10E/SD is a 23 bed acute care medical cardiology unit, which includes a 9 bed Step Down level of care. The primary patient population is advanced heart failure. There is a comprehensive orientation, which will prepare you to the care for the advanced heart failure patient, including the management of continuous IV inotropes, continuous IV diuretic infusions, patients with LVAD’S (Left ventricular assist device) and patients who are admitted for TAVR workups/procedures. We have a dynamic nursing team on B10E/SD, and, if you are looking for an opportunity to continuously grow and develop as a professional nurse, you will certainly have that experience.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English, and perform basic Mathematics.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to perform physical effort as specified by position physical requirements and occupational exposure form.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Hospital based or physician office work experience.
  • Demonstrated competencies in a related health field at Hartford Hospital
  • CPR validation may be required within three months of hire depending upon work area specific requirement
