Calculates and processes applications for eligibility determination. Seeks other third party resources through local, state, and federal government agencies. Cross trains to other job duties as deemed appropriate by Supervisor/Director. Accepts additional duties as assigned. Assumes responsibility and accountability for screening, referring, and interviewing applicants for service through a variety of indigent healthcare programs. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year job related experience recommended
  • Typing skills 35 WPM desirable
  • Computer experience
  • Experience in intense customer service and people interaction preferred
  • Experience in intense concentration, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Ability to read, write, and converse in English.
  • Ability to communicate with staff, physicians, support agencies, patients, families, vendors and others.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under stress.
  • Bending, lifting (10-20 lbs), grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing and pulling and prolonged sitting.
  • Ability to tolerate low noise levels for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to function when exposed to hazardous chemicals and/or biological materials.
  • Ability to respond to pages, telephones and other auditory stimulation.
  • Ability to discriminate color.
  • Quantitative/mathematical ability.
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
