About The Position

Capital Area Pediatrics offers accessible, comprehensive pediatric care to families at five practice locations throughout Northern Virginia. For both sickness and health, generations of families have chosen Capital Area Pediatrics to provide outstanding care and an exceptional patient experience. We are currently hiring a full-time Patient Accounts Representative to join our team. This is an on-site position located at our Central Business Office in Oakton, Virginia.

Requirements

Patient Accounts/Collections experience required.
Strong understanding of medical billing processes.
Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) – Athena is a plus!
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Ability to provide quality customer service to patients, families, vendors, and other team members

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and problem solve billing inquiries.
Provide first line of support to patients through the Billing Phone Line during scheduled phone coverage hours.
Complete adjustment to patient accounts.
Updating patient information to ensure proper processing of payments.
Process patient payments and refunds.
Help patients set up payment plans.
Liaise with insurance representatives to ensure that patients have coverage for necessary treatments
Back-up and assist other billing department staff as required.
Extracting relevant information from patient records.
Liaising with physicians and other parties to clarify information.
Performs other duties as assigned.
