Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, Adults, and the CD population. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well. Wellstone is seeking a dynamic and talented Patient Accounts Representative to work full-time, 40 hours per week. The Patient Accounts/Collections Representative is responsible for insurance verification and insurance billing, follow up of billed accounts, upfront collections and collection of assigned patient accounts by contacting insurance companies and third-party payors to resolve all outstanding owed balances to resolution or patient responsibility and explore patient’s financial circumstances to ensure fair and reasonable repayment terms. Will meet with patients and/or call Guarantor’s to collect outstanding balances due. Coordinates information with ClaimAid contracted employee so they can follow for applications for Medicaid/HIP or Marketplace insurance.

  • Insurance verification and insurance billing.

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in health care billing/collections.
  • Experience with insurance billing on UB04 claim forms.
  • Proficiency in computer and business software programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience in a health care business office environment.
