About The Position

The Patient Account Specialist is responsible for managing the complete processing of patient accounts with third-party carriers, ensuring accurate billing and claim adjudication. This role involves electronic and paper billing, providing necessary information for claims, and addressing inquiries from patients and insurance companies. The position requires a strong background in medical billing and collections, along with proficiency in relevant coding systems.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years experience with electronic hospital billing and/or collections in a medical field.
• Strong emphasis in accounting and personal computers, including Microsoft Windows.
• Knowledgeable in third-party claim adjudication, including Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, commercial insurance, and managed care.
• Familiarity with CPT codes, ICD-9/10 codes, and HCPCS codes preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical ability and accurate mathematical calculation skills.
