About The Position

The Patient Account Representative position is available within the Tribal Health Department in St. Ignatius. The successful applicant will be responsible for handling medical billing and collections in a medical office setting. This role requires a strong understanding of medical office administration and the ability to work effectively in a healthcare environment.

Requirements

• AA Degree in Business Administration (Medical Office Administration or related field).
• 2 years of experience in medical billing and/or collections in a medical office setting, or 5 years of experience in a hospital or medical office setting as a biller and/or collector.
• Valid driver's license.
• Submission of a Tribal application, academic transcript/training, certificates, or licensures.
• Proof of enrollment in a federally recognized Tribe if applicable.
• If claiming veteran's preference, a copy of DD214 must be submitted.

Responsibilities

• Manage medical billing and collections processes.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims.
• Communicate with patients regarding their accounts.
• Maintain patient records and documentation.
• Assist in resolving billing discrepancies.
