About The Position
EVMS Medical Group at ODU is seeking a Patient Account Representative. This position performs daily review of charges for accuracy, updates patient demographics, verifies insurance information, obtains authorizations, and manually posts charges into EPIC. Identifies charge issues/opportunities and works with clinical department to make recommendations, resolve issues and enhance charge capture.
Requirements
- ICD10 and CPT knowledge
- understanding of medical billing
- problem solving abilities
Nice To Haves
- One year of patient billing experience.
- High School diploma or it's equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently and accurately enter charges in EPIC.
- Review and resolve edits in Charge Review workqueues.
- Review and identify resolution for denials.
- Assisting providers with billing/coding issues.
- Updating patient demographics and verifying insurance coverage.
