Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health or nonprofit healthcare billing, including:
  • Insurance verification and eligibility review
  • Patient financial communication and customer service
  • Team-based collaboration in a revenue cycle environment
  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and practice management systems
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, with or without accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Perform insurance verification and eligibility checks
  • Develop a working knowledge of LVF payer contracts and billing workflows
  • Provide support and training to registration, check-in, and other patient accounts staff.
  • Populate and maintain accurate client insurance information into the Electronic Health Record
  • Respond to patient billing inquiries with professionalism and empathy 
  • Contribute to efficient revenue cycle management and compliance standards
  • Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by the supervisor
