About The Position
The Patient Account Representative manages patient billing, insurance claims, payments, and account inquires. Requirements
- Previous experience in medical billing, collections, or customer service in a healthcare environment is required.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and patient accounting software.
- Understanding of medical terminology, coding, and insurance provider regulations.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate claims to insurance carriers, including following up on unpaid or denied claims.
- Act as the primary contact for patients regarding questions about their bills, insurance coverage, and payment options.
- Process patient payments, manage payment plans, and collect outstanding balances.
- Maintain detailed records of account activity, updating patient demographic and insurance information accurately.
- Reconcile account balances, process refunds, and post payments.
