Website: https://heritageoakshospital.com/ Heritage Oaks Hospital is currently looking for a full-time Patient Account Representative to join our Business Office Team! The Patient Account Representative is responsible for submittal of electronic and manual billings, account statements, and for follow-up with third-party payers and patients for outstanding balances. This position is also responsible for the preparation of daily cash receipts and maintenance of insurance logs.

Requirements

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience in insurance billing and CPT coding is preferred.
Any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital business office is required.
Experience with billing, computers, and business software programs preferred.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification required.
May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
Completion of Handle with Care class within 30 days of employment and prior to participating in a code green is required.

Responsibilities

Prepare and submit insurance billings to primary and secondary payers.
Transmit all billings to third-party payers, either manually or electronically as requested.
Provide assistance in contacting third-party payers at a 30-day interval after billing to assure that bills have been received and are being processed.
