About The Position

The position involves managing and resolving outstanding claims with third-party payors. The primary responsibilities include reviewing claims issues, making necessary corrections, and rebilling claims. The role requires utilizing a claims clearing house to review and correct claims, and resubmitting them electronically when possible. Additionally, the position entails reviewing explanations of benefits to ensure claims are processed and paid correctly, completing adjustment forms when necessary, and managing daily productivity through a patient accounting system. The individual must maintain an average of 30-40 accounts worked per day and monitor patient accounts to ensure balances are in the correct financial class. Reporting weekly overviews to the Board of Directors and participating in accounts receivable meetings are also key responsibilities. The role requires gathering and interpreting data from the system to take appropriate actions that lead to timely payments, as well as assisting financial counselors and alerting them and the Business Office Director of any benefit eligibility matters that may affect reimbursement.
