About The Position

The Patient Business Services Follow-up Representative reports to the Patient Business Services Follow-up Manager. S/he is responsible for actively collecting and managing healthcare receivables and processing assigned patient accounts in a timely manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assists with priority accounts, problem resolution and exception processing. Must exercise tact and sound judgment in obtaining cooperation rather than confrontation. Other duties may apply as assigned by a supervisor or manager.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to quickly comprehend new techniques and concepts.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Experience with computers and working knowledge of standard office equipment.
  • Experience in patient accounting including knowledge of billing, follow-up, registration, reimbursement, medical terminology, and managed care.
  • Proficient in data entry and keyboarding skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem-solving, organization, and interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to maintain a positive professional demeanor in a demanding environment.

  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Ability to work independently.
