About The Position

The patient account representative is responsible for accurate and timely collection of claims to third party payers and patients, codes and enters charges, post payments, arranges payment plans, provides cost estimates and updating patient accounts. This position requires timely response to inquiries from both the payer and the patient. This position has high contact with patients, employees, physicians and other members of the community. Occasional stress related to workload and deadline time frames. Attendance is an essential function of this job.

Requirements

• High school graduate is required
• Minimum of one year of billing experience in health care setting preferred
• Minimum of one year of computer data entry experience required
• Able to work under deadline pressure
• Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with all ages, especially the geriatric population

Nice To Haves

• Previous healthcare billing and follow-up experience preferred
• Business training will be considered if previous experience is not available
