About The Position

At NorthBay Health, the Patient Account Representative III (PAR III) is responsible for the timely, accurate, and follow-up of all accounts as assigned. The PAR III is responsible for the processing of accounts of all patient types, resolving phones calls and correspondence related to their accounts, working with Departments and acting as NorthBay Liaison with outsourced vendors, in accordance with standard billing practices and in compliance with regulatory policies and requirements. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of experience in inpatient hospital billing and follow-up strongly preferred.
  • Three years of experience in hospital billing and follow-up, or one year of experience in hospital billing and follow-up with two years of physician billing and follow-up required.
  • Ability to quickly master computer programs related to claims processing.
  • Ability to understand the terms of payor contracts.
  • Ability to understand Knox-Keene regulations and managed care concepts.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and process accounts quickly to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to process claims accurately and timely.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and effectively solve problems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to perform various tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of personal computers, public folders, shared drives, Internet, and spreadsheet/word processing programs.
