Coshocton Regional Medical Center is a 56-bed, not-for-profit hospital serving East Central Ohio, providing 24-hour emergency services and acute care services, including a network of hospital-based physician clinics. Coshocton Regional is an Accredited Chest Pain and Heart Failure Center and has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® by demonstrating compliance with national standards for health care quality and safety. The Patient Account Registrar interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics, secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable. This position works closely with all facets of the Admitting department including PBX operator function and reception areas. The role requires operating a computer to input and retrieve data and communicating with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. Maintaining proficiency in medical terminology is also required. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe.

Requirements

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Customer Services experience required
  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
