About The Position

We are seeking a Patient Account Registrar , sometimes referred to as a n Admission Representative . The Account Registrar will work in bed management and will have no direct patient contact, playing an important role in the coordination of bed management and direct admits within the facility. Their primary focus is ensuring efficient use of hospital beds and maintaining up-to-date and accurate records in collaboration with staff and physicians. This role is essential for streamlining hospital operations, reducing wait times, and ensuring the optimal use of resources, all while focusing on staff and physician interactions rather than patient-facing duties. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed . Requirements

  • Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Customer Services experience required
  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)

Responsibilities

  • c oordinate with nursing staff, case managers, and physicians to assign beds for incoming patients based on medical needs, availability, and urgency
  • M onitor bed occupancy and status in real-time using hospital information systems
  • act as a liaison between various hospital departments to facilitate smooth patient transfers and optimize bed usage
  • U pdate patient data in the hospital’s electronic medical record (EMR) system to reflect admissions, discharges, and transfers accurately
  • R un reports and analyze bed utilization trends to support hospital operations
