In addition to our healthcare services, we offer comprehensive behavioral health services on the hospital campus and Bayview campus in Chula Vista. Services include psychiatric continuum of care for adult patients, inpatient services, and intensive outpatient services.

Requirements

  • Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics.
  • Secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.
  • Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department including PBX operator function and reception areas.
  • Operates a computer to input and retrieve data.
  • Communicates with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics.
  • Maintains proficiency in medical terminology.
  • Completes special projects or other assignments within a specified timeframe.
