About The Position

The Patient Access Training Specialist position is located in Naperville, with travel to various locations. This is a full-time role with working hours from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The position requires an Associate's degree in education, organizational development, or healthcare, along with two to three years of experience in registration/scheduling or in a training/precepting role. The role involves a moderate level of analytical ability and requires knowledge of patient access services and the revenue cycle. Strong communication, administrative, and interpersonal skills are essential for leading and teaching others, managing diverse issues, and interacting effectively in challenging situations. The work environment is primarily office or clinical, with occasional exposure to unpleasant or hazardous conditions.

Requirements

  • An Associate's degree in education, organizational development, or healthcare.
  • Two to three years of previous experience in registration/scheduling or in a training/precepting role.
  • Moderate level of analytical ability.
  • Broad knowledge of issues, trends, practices, and systems related to patient access services and the revenue cycle.
  • Basic technical knowledge or in-depth, experience-based knowledge for problem-solving and information analysis.
  • High level of communication, administrative, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily activities of subordinate personnel related to pre-admission testing, outpatient, same day surgery, emergency room, immediate care, inpatient, observation, and corporate health registrations, discharges, and admissions.
  • Monitor and ensure accurate and timely input of patient, insurance, and clinical information into the admissions system.
  • Ensure department standards are met and excellent customer service is provided.
  • Assist staff in resolving issues with procedures, equipment, employees, physicians, and/or patients.
  • Perform duties of a patient service representative.
