The Patient Access Trainer at JPS Health Network plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the education programs for Patient Access. This position is responsible for researching and aligning educational resources with the strategic focus areas of the health system. The trainer will plan and lead various training initiatives while monitoring quality and performance metrics. They will keep the Manager of Patient Access Quality & Training informed of results and utilize data to identify and develop targeted opportunities for staff development across all areas of the revenue cycle. In this role, the Patient Access Trainer will organize and implement a comprehensive revenue cycle training program for new hires, staff development, and on-the-job training across various revenue cycle functions. They will plan, coordinate, and lead internal in-services and educational programming for patient access staff, covering essential areas such as scheduling, arrival, admission, pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, financial clearance or counseling, cashiering, managed care policies, third-party insurance billing, account follow-up, and customer service. The trainer will also be responsible for identifying educational resources that can best support these training initiatives. Additionally, the Patient Access Trainer will assist the manager in designing training and staff assessment materials, including manuals, presentations, scripts, competency tests, tip sheets, and evaluation scorecards. They will ensure that Patient Access staff meet departmental education requirements and stay updated on changes affecting their job functions. The trainer will provide one-on-one targeted training in response to performance deficiencies and promote a collaborative environment by addressing issues constructively. Regular reviews and audits of pre-registration, registrations, and billing processes will be conducted to ensure accuracy and completeness of patient demographic and insurance data. The trainer will also assist Patient Access leaders in analyzing performance data to refine training programs as necessary, emphasizing professionalism in all communications with patients, families, payers, and internal staff.
