About The Position

Serves as a knowledge and resource expert for Patient Access Representatives. Responsible for assisting with the supervision of staff and supporting management with various functions related to all patient registration activities including patient reception, face-to-face registration, insurance verification, financial counseling, cash collections, chart reconciliation and patient discharge. Individual must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of the registration process and ensures that the team completes the work in a timely fashion. Provide support to an organizational culture that lends the highest degree of service excellence standards to all customer groups. Acts as primary liaison for patients receiving professional and hospital services.

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent (GED) or higher is required
  • 4 - 5 years - registration/insurance verification and scheduling experience in EPIC, or other EHR systems within a hospital or medical office environment; customer service experience is required.
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, organization, and multitasking skills required
  • Proficient computer skills; Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree: preferred
  • Bachelors Degree: preferred
  • Associates Degree can substitute for 2 years of registration/insurance verification and scheduling experience in EPIC or other EHR system within a hospital or medical office environment, customer service experience is required
  • Experience with EPIC and medical office workflows
  • Insurance Verification Experience
