About The Position

We are seeking a Patient Access Supervisor to lead daily operations across all Patient Access service areas. In this role, you will guide and support a team responsible for admissions, registration, and pre‑registration processes, including insurance verification for PHS. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service while monitoring productivity and managing staffing across multiple registration locations. This position plays a key role in creating a smooth, positive experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field; at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong critical‑thinking skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers, understand needs, and clearly explain information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work professionally with staff, management, board members, and the public—even in high‑stress situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage with members, employer groups, brokers, physicians, and office staff.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time and projects, and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to support 24/7 operations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and support Patient Access staff, ensuring strong performance and adherence to departmental standards.
  • Provide coaching and performance management, including corrective action and improvement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements (JCAHO, CMS, EMTALA, HIPAA).
  • Monitor productivity, staffing, and workflow efficiency across multiple registration areas.
  • Assist with setting productivity benchmarks and aligning staffing with patient volumes and budget goals.
  • Support quality documentation, issue resolution, and patient experience improvements.
  • Manage work queues and billing reports to ensure timely, accurate account completion.
  • Collaborate with leadership to address operational issues, improve processes, and reduce denials.
  • Conduct monthly one‑on‑one meetings and foster staff development and growth.
  • Maintain strong relationships with patients, physicians, and staff while promoting effective patient flow.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and serve in a 24/7 on‑call rotation.
