About The Position

The Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of patient access functions including registration, admissions, insurance verification, and customer service. This role ensures efficient, accurate, and patient-centered access to care while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of healthcare patient access or revenue cycle experience
  • 1–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with hospital/clinic registration systems and EMR platforms
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of insurance verification, authorization, and billing processes
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems and Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of healthcare compliance and regulatory standards
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (preferred)
  • CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) or CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manager) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily patient access operations (registration, admissions, discharge processes)
  • Ensure accuracy of patient demographic, insurance, and billing information
  • Monitor productivity, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction scores
  • Resolve patient issues, complaints, and escalations in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with clinical departments, revenue cycle, and billing teams
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS regulations, and payer requirements
  • Analyze reports and KPIs to improve workflow and reduce denials
  • Implement process improvements and best practices
  • Assist in budget management and cost control initiatives
  • Support system upgrades, training, and process changes
