About The Position

The supervisor for Patient Registration and/or Patient Financial Services at Sentara Obici Hospital is responsible and accountable for the daily operations of one or more areas. This role involves supervising staff, coordinating quality and customer service activities, assisting in the development and monitoring of the department budget, coordinating the purchasing and payroll processes, serving as a technical resource to team members, and performing work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and to mentor/assist staff. The supervisor is also responsible for interviewing, hiring, and developing staff with the goal of developing a highly effective work team, and serves as the chief retention officer for their areas of responsibility. Sentara Obici Hospital, a 175-bed state-of-the-art facility located in Suffolk, VA, provides high-quality, patient-centered care, specializing in orthopedics and spine, heart and vascular, advanced imaging, gynecological and comprehensive breast services, behavioral health, maternity, weight loss surgery, and a heartburn treatment center. It is a recognized accredited Primary Stroke Center and a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Equivalent experience in Registration may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree).
  • Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) OR Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • 1 year of Healthcare experience.

Responsibilities
