About The Position

Nemours Children's Hospital is seeking an ED Patient Access Supervisor (FULL-TIME), to join our team in Wilmington, DE. The Supervisor position actively assists in the daily operations of all aspects of the Emergency Department Patient Access team which includes registration, admissions, verification, authorization and scheduling. This position ensures that each function is operating in such a manner that productivity, accuracy, customer service skills, and regulatory requirements are maintained at a very high level.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience required.
  • Associate Degree preferred: applicable experience and/or demonstrated performance is considered.
  • CHAA, CRCR Certifications required or obtained within 18 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Interviewing and training new associates.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Contributing to performance appraisals and providing timely feedback.
  • Addressing customer concerns and resolving problems.
  • Gathering data to ensure accurate demographic and insurance information.
  • Identifying the need for training or coaching.
  • Maintaining and managing appropriate staffing.
  • Assisting in the development of policies and procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Performing daily quality and auditing of associate performance.
  • Quantifying findings and presenting to management on a monthly basis.
  • Managing all aspects of staffing including scheduling, timekeeping, and daily work assignments.
  • Providing new associates with a schedule of educational requirements and ensuring proper training.
  • Recommending and implementing department procedural changes.
  • Overseeing departmental cash control.
  • Preparing monthly reports for internal and external management.
  • Assisting Manager with personnel actions including hiring and performance appraisals.
  • Assuming on-call responsibilities for problem solving and staffing.
  • Actively participating in various department and organization committee meetings.
  • Establishing planned accountability to assure acceptable standards of production and quality.
  • Performing all functions of access when needed to ensure wait times are kept to a minimum.
  • Requesting and distributing daily QA reports.
  • Assisting in resolving patient concerns.
  • Monitoring claim and patient work queues.
  • Maintaining Huddle board and GEMBA news.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
