About The Position

Requirements

  • Previous data entry or clerical experience with customer contact of two years is required.
  • Three to six months of on-the-job training is necessary to become proficient.

  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with patient registration systems and insurance verification processes.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, families, visitors, and coworkers in a polite and helpful manner.
  • Determine, verify, and explain CIHA eligibility to patients.
  • Check-in or register patients for their visits and answer incoming calls.
  • Conduct patient interviews to obtain registration information, including demographic and insurance details.
  • Verify insurance coverage and determine applicable co-payments, collecting them when necessary.
  • Create and complete new patient charts in the BPRM Patient Registration System.
  • Obtain and verify health records for Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance eligibility.
  • Collect signatures for required forms prior to patient visits for billing purposes.
  • Document complaint/grievance information and elevate issues to management as appropriate.
  • Answer eligibility questions and provide information to new patients or members.
