About The Position

The Patient Access Services Representative is responsible for answering all incoming calls to the facility during clinic hours. Employees are responsible for determining the needs of the caller as quickly and as courteously as possible and responding appropriately. Here's what you'll do when you join us: Direct phone calls and /or send an electronic message to the appropriate area Monitor attendance of providers and department directors to determine how to best direct calls Schedule patient appointments Verify insurance, patient information, guarantor and account information at the time of scheduling Confirm provider appointments by calling patients and reschedule as-necessary Complete patient claim and edit work queues Collaborate with other departments to support the revenue cycle Provide excellent customer service

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Great computer skills.
  • Fantastic customer service skills.
  • Ability to discuss financial obligations with patients in a professional and confidential manner
  • Adhere to all Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital policies.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Ability and willingness to cover all Patient Access areas as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in business related field is preferred.
  • An understanding of revenue cycle management with the ability to collect copayments and present fiscal information in a professional and confidential manner
