About The Position

Patient Access Services Representative - Clinic Full-Time 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) Days On-site at Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital in Grand Rapids INTERNAL POSTING THROUGH: 1/7/2026 Job Summary: The Patient Access Services Representative is responsible for completing the registration process within patients. They are responsible for verifying insurance and assuring that registrations are completed. They are responsible for initiating referrals and financially securing accounts. Here's what you'll do when you join us: Arrive all patients who come in for scheduled appointments by obtaining necessary consents, signatures, documents, and insurance verification from the patient. Schedule patient appointments. Collect co-pays at time of service. Identify coverage or self-pay issues. Engaging the Financial Advocates as needed. Enter patient information and scan required documents in the scheduling system. Collaborate with the Business Department to support revenue cycle. Utilize great customer service skills with both patients and coworkers.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • One year of customer service experience.
  • Great computer skills.
  • Fantastic customer service skills.
  • Adhere to all Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital policies.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to cover all Patient Access areas as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in business related field is preferred.
  • Ability to collect co-payments and present fiscal information.
  • One year admitting experience and/or health insurance experience preferred.
