The Patient Access Scheduling Representative is responsible for scheduling patients for various facility services based on physician orders. This role involves managing patient data, obtaining authorizations, and ensuring that all necessary information is collected and processed efficiently. The position requires a basic understanding of scheduling processes and the ability to work within established guidelines.

  • Schedule patients for facility services based on physician orders.
  • Take telephone requests for authorizations and prepare referral requests.
  • Obtain authorizations and collect patient data.
  • Maintain responsibility for completing the scheduling process in the computer system.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and cancel/revise appointments as needed.
  • Provide patients with necessary instructions regarding preparation, timing, and location of exams.
  • Maintain electronic health record (EHR) referral documentation.
  • Track referral patient compliance and communicate with referring providers as necessary.
  • Select correct patient and service/exam, ensuring orders and required authorizations are in place.
  • Collect clinical data under facility direction.
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent (Preferred).
  • Associate's/Technical degree in business or equivalent combination of education/related experience (Preferred).
