Patient Access Representatives are assigned to a primary check-in/Registration area on campus within the patient access team. They may perform admissions, check-in, registration, and scheduling functions, as well as address inquiries via telephone, email or fax. Clinic Scheduling, Registration and Check In Accurately and appropriately schedules patients. Confirm arrival time, appointment time, and any other applicable instructions. Educate patient of any preparation and/or instructions needed prior to procedure. Pre-register patients by verifying demographics and insurance coverage. Create the Hospital Account Record (HAR). Look for existing orders and link them to appointment. Monitor and schedule the Referral Workque's as assigned. Accurately and appropriately register and check in patients for their appointments. Check in patients for their appointments, complete all needed information and direct them to the appropriate location. Provide appropriate forms as designated by clinical staff and/or standard practice. Receive and enter appropriately all patient forms dropped off for completion. Determine if the patient needs to be seen to complete the form, and/or have patient complete their portion of the forms. Route forms according to standard practice. Collects and posts patient co-pays/deductibles/balances consistently and accurately. Assists patients with any follow up appointments at check out
