The Patient Access Representative is responsible for timely and accurate patient registration. This role involves interviewing patients for all pertinent account information, verifying all insurance, calculating and collecting patient liability amounts, and ensuring all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment. The representative will also answer any questions and explain policies clearly, check for physician orders and attach them to appropriate patient records, print and collate any paperwork needed for patient distribution, and escort patients to their area or refer them to an available escort.

Nice To Haves

High School Education/GED or equivalent
Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience

Responsibilities

Responsible for timely and accurate patient registration.
Interview patients for all pertinent account information.
Verify all insurance and calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment.
Answer any questions and explain policies clearly.
Check for physician orders and attach them to appropriate patient record to ensure correct test is received.
Print and collate any paperwork needed for each patient for distribution to unit/department.
Escort patients to his/her area or refer patient to available escort as needed.
Choose correct health plan and accurately research to ensure accuracy when verifying insurance.
Enter all authorization information accurately as needed.
Follow guidelines and instructions from senior staff.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
