Performs registration and pre-registration functions for in-patients, out-patients, and emergency department patients to ensure the integrity of the financial data gathered, customer satisfaction and to support quality patient care. Collects monies due, verifies insurance and performs financial screening to support positive collections and optimal reimbursements. Cross-trains as required for other patient access areas. Enhances the hospitals public image by direct efforts towards increasing patient satisfaction. Responsible for duties in support of department efficiencies which may include: but not limited to obtaining and verifying authorizations, performing scheduling, registration, medical necessity, point of service collections and any other duties as directed by management.
