About The Position

The Patient Access Representative serves as the primary point of contact for patients at Sutter Davis Hospital, responsible for registering and financially clearing patients for service delivery. This role enhances the patient experience by providing excellent customer service and demonstrating knowledge of Sutter Health's system and services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
  • 1 year of experience in a hospital, clinic, insurance company, managed care organization, or financial service setting performing financial counseling or customer service activities.
  • General knowledge of patient access and financial counseling functions in acute and non-acute settings.
  • Working knowledge of insurance and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) and Consent Laws.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple computer systems accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to meet or exceed customer service, productivity, and quality standards.
  • Computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and family members upon arrival.
  • Obtain and verify necessary information for patient registration and financial clearance.
  • Serve as the customer service point of contact at the point of service.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Sutter Health's system and service offerings.
  • Manage frequent in-person patient contacts while maintaining accurate documentation in registration systems.
