About The Position

This is a part-time position requiring 2 shifts per week, specifically 12-hour night shifts from 6 PM to 6:30 AM, including every other weekend and holiday rotation. The role involves performing the Patient Access process, which includes accurate registration and pre-registration, insurance verification for eligibility, and scheduling for various departments' procedures and appointments. The position requires entering patient data for services and coordinating multiple services in the proper sequence while informing patients and doctors' offices about preparations and insurance requirements. The candidate will collaborate with multiple departments to utilize equipment and facilities effectively, accommodating physician preferences and patient needs. A courteous and professional demeanor is essential, with a focus on developing customer relationships and prioritizing customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certifications required within one year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical terminology knowledge.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding.
  • Experience with insurance verification and the ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the Patient Access process including registration and pre-registration.

  • Perform outpatient and inpatient registration and insurance verification functions.
  • Collect patient financial liability payments and ensure compliance with financial requirements.
  • Provide general information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices.
  • Research, collect, and analyze information for performance improvement activities.
  • Utilize multiple system applications for analysis and report creation.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and Trinity Health policies.
