About The Position

The Patient Access Representative position at McCarran NW is a per diem opportunity within a full-service emergency room that provides 24/7 emergency care. The facility is equipped to handle both life-threatening injuries and less urgent issues, ensuring high-quality care delivered by a skilled team of emergency-trained professionals. The role involves scheduling, greeting, pre-registering, and registering patients in a courteous and professional manner, as well as verifying insurance benefits and checking for necessary authorizations. The position requires effective communication with patients and hospital colleagues regarding revenue cycle issues and may involve rotating through various areas of the Patient Access Department, including the Emergency Room, with a variety of shifts.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate required.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Patient registration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge patients, families, and visitors in a courteous manner upon arrival and process necessary information to minimize wait times.
  • Escort patients when necessary and direct them to appropriate areas.
  • Utilize professional verbal communication skills to interact with patients and other customers, promoting customer satisfaction.
  • Promote efficiency and accurate processing of departmental information through effective communication with team members and other personnel.
