About The Position

The Occupational Health Clinic is seeking a Patient Access Representative responsible for supporting departmental efficiencies. This role includes performing registration, patient pre-admission and admission, reception, and discharge functions. The representative must obtain complete and accurate patient demographic information and employ proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during, and after the date of service. The position offers employer-paid benefits including medical, dental, and vision, with an hourly rate ranging from $21.33 to $32.67. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience preferred.
  • Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting customers following Good Shepherd Standards of Care and providing world-class customer service.
  • Completing full patient registration at the date of service.
  • Adhering to financial and cash control policies and procedures.
  • Thoroughly explaining and securing Hospital and patient legal forms.
  • Scanning Protected Health Information and creating and filing patient information packets/folders for upcoming Hospital services.
  • Assisting with scheduling diagnostic procedures and entering data in the scheduling system.
  • Educating patients about patient financial liabilities and employing proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques.
  • Performing Hospital cash reconciliation and secured payment entry in adherence to financial and cash control policies and procedures.
  • Securing medical necessity checks/verification in accordance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services.
  • Verifying insurance, benefits, coverage, and eligibility.
  • Completing assigned registration financial clearance work lists activities.
  • Obtaining insurance authorizations for scheduled and unscheduled Hospital services.
  • Securing inpatient visit notification to payors.
  • Assisting with scheduling and coordinating post-discharge care for patients.
