About The Position

Patient Access Representative II Position Highlights: Position: Patient Access Representative II Location: Highland Park, IL Per-Diem (as needed) Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30am – 5pm (as needed), Weekend coverage when needed Required Travel: yes, will also be scheduled out of Gurnee and Vernon Hills offices Job Summary: The Patient Access Representative II is responsible for efficiently and accurately processing patient registrations, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance coverage. This role plays a critical part in optimizing the patient experience and supporting the hospital's commitment to high-quality healthcare services.

Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
Experience: One-year customer service experience in a healthcare or health insurance related field required

Nice To Haves

Unique or Preferred Skills: Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance industry terminology preferred

Responsibilities

Act as an internal/external resource for all customer groups by providing access to healthcare services in accordance with established policies
Identify payment sources for all services provided; assist in collecting payments, and triage patients or their representatives for financial counseling
Maintain accurate electronic medical records and abide by all internal and governmental/regulatory compliance expectations
