Patient Access Representative I - Ambulatory Operations

As a Patient Access Representative, you will ensure patients and visitors have an exceptional experience throughout the entire registration, intake and scheduling process. Patients and their families are looking for an empathetic, warm individual who is comfortable with entering patient rooms, helping with registration at the bedside, offering small comforts and handling sensitive conversations such as co-pay collection with compassion and professionalism. Caregivers in this role will work from 3:00PM-11:30PM with rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer facing role with in person or phone contact OR an associate's degree which may substitute for up to 1 year of the stated experience OR a bachelor's degree which may substitute for up to 2 years of the stated experience
Responsibilities
- Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial.
- Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register.
- Function as a Super User and act as a resource for the training of new caregivers.
- Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.
