About The Position

As a Patient Access Representative at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, your primary responsibility is to deliver an exceptional experience to patients, families, and visitors from their arrival to their departure. This involves assisting them with various tasks including registration, information gathering, payment collection, and insurance verification. This role is considered a valuable steppingstone for career progression within Customer Service and other departments at Cleveland Clinic. Caregivers in this position work day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and are required to work rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma OR GED and two years of experience in a customer-facing role with in person or phone contact OR an Associate’s Degree and one year of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Knowledge of medical terminology OR completion of course within year of hire
  • Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial.
  • Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED and cash register.
  • Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.
  • Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.
  • May rotate to different locations/hospitals based on staffing needs.
