About The Position

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate patient registration, which includes interviewing patients for necessary account information, verifying insurance, and collecting patient liability amounts. This role is crucial in facilitating patient flow and ensuring that all necessary documentation and signatures are obtained for treatment.

Requirements

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent (Preferred).
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience (Preferred).
  • Ability to check for physician orders and attach them to patient medical records.
  • Skill in choosing the correct health plan and accurately verifying insurance.
  • Ability to enter all authorization information accurately as needed.
  • Ability to follow guidelines and instructions from senior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely and accurate patient registration.
  • Interview patients for all pertinent account information.
  • Verify all insurance and calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
  • Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment.
  • Answer any questions and explain policies clearly.
  • Check for physician orders and attach them to the appropriate patient record to ensure correct tests are received.
  • Print and collate any paperwork needed for each patient for distribution to unit/department.
  • Escort patients to their area or refer patients to available escort as needed.
