About The Position

The position involves communicating with patients, participants, and staff to accurately schedule patients for prescribed procedures. The role also includes performing clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Customer/patient relations experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a position requiring frequent and direct in-person customer contact.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Frequent keyboarding.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Creates patient encounters in the EHR for ED, radiology, and outpatient patients.
  • Performs all functions related to the integrity of the EHR, including obtaining general consent for treatment, creating unknown encounters, merging records, scanning, and preparing trauma packets.
  • Participates in daily auditing of registration processes.
  • Manages incoming and outgoing telephone calls, Vocera calls, and the Nurse call system.
  • Collects co-pays and provides financial guidance related to paying outstanding balances, including providing estimate letters for services rendered.
  • Performs the function of Health Information Management department after hours.
  • Participates in ED staff meetings and ED Shared Governance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
