About The Position

As a Patient Access Representative Associate, your role is more than administrative-it's about creating a warm, reassuring experience during what can be a stressful time. With a kind smile and a calm demeanor, you greet and welcome each patient in person, helping them feel seen and supported from the very beginning. You guide patients through the registration process, carefully entering their information into the electronic medical record system. Your attention to detail ensures that every patient's journey starts with accuracy and compassion. Whether answering questions, verifying insurance, or simply offering a comforting word, you play a vital role in connecting patients to the care they need.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
  • 0 to 2 years of experience using computer including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0 to 2 years of customer service experience
  • 0 to 2 years of general office experience
  • 0 to 2 years of knowledge of the components of revenue cycle and health care insurance

Responsibilities

  • Greets and welcomes patient in person.
  • Collects demographic and insurance information.
  • Checks in or interviews patient to complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Directs patient to their appointment or procedure.
  • May assist in scheduling add-on appointments.
  • Verifies eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results.
  • Obtains signatures from patients as needed.
  • Collects co-pay or deductibles and respond to questions regarding financial programs available. Refers complex questions as needed.
  • Uses resources, tools and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues.
  • Assists patient in completion of request for information forms and submits to appropriate department.
  • May gather medical record information from all departments for collection.
  • May mentor new staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
