About The Position

The Clinic Access Rep 1 is responsible for accurately registering patients in EMR including validating patient information, verification of insurance coverage, collection of required payments and ensuring the patient's experience is best in class. Relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks. Works under close supervision.

Requirements

  • 6 months experience in a customer service/front desk role or a graduate of a front office/medical office program.
  • Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy.
  • Ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in Epic during the introductory period.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately register patients in EMR.
  • Validate patient information.
  • Verify insurance coverage.
  • Collect required payments.
  • Ensure best in class patient experience.
  • Process documentation related to patient referrals.
  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments.
  • Complete a variety of clerical duties efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate patient charts/files.
  • Research claim edits and denials.
  • Resolve discrepancies within 2 days of notification.
  • Key charges and process batches daily.
  • Verify and collect patient payments for services rendered.
  • Maintain general knowledge of health plans.
