About The Position
Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Representative to join our Patient Access team. This part-time position is essential in ensuring that patients are greeted and registered in a courteous and professional manner. The representative will be responsible for pre-registering and registering patients, verifying insurance benefits, and checking for the necessity of pre-certification, authorization, and referral. Additionally, the role involves performing medical necessity checks as needed, securing patient signatures for required hospital forms, and collecting patients' financial responsibilities when required. The Patient Access Representative will also provide professional and quality customer service, ensuring timely resolution to customer problems and coordinating services for all customers. This position requires effective communication of revenue cycle-related issues to patients, physicians, physician office staff, and other hospital colleagues. The representative will rotate into various areas of patient access and may work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on departmental needs. This role is crucial in maintaining the hospital's commitment to providing accessible and equitable care to all patients.
